Kin of critically-ill patients cry for help after oxygen supply disrupted

An acute shortage of oxygen supply is being reported from several hospitals in Haryana's Panipat. The death toll is rising on daily basis due to the lack of medical oxygen supply. Although the state is trying to arrange medical oxygen, the situation continues to be grim. Prem hospital in Panipat witnessed emotional scenes when the relatives of critically ill Covid patients found that the oxygen supply in the facility was about to run dry. Ironically, one of the largest oxygen plants in North India is in Panipat. Besides the oxygen shortage crisis, the corrupt hospital authorities have also become a challenge for the patients in some places in India. If reports are to believed, there have instances when hospitals have charged as much as Rs. 80,000 for one injection.
