Delhi Gate cemetery running out of space as COVID-19 deaths spike

New Delhi: With the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases and related deaths, the Gate cemetery is running out of burial space. Mohammad Shameem, a worker in the cemetery said that since April 4, around fifty bodies have been buried at the graveyard. Earlier, the cemetery used to receive two or three bodies for burial on a day, now it has shot up, he added. There are over 28,000 active cases of COVID-19 in Delhi.
