Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir): Security forces have apprehended a Pakistani infiltrator along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Monday. Officials said that the troops on Line of Control nabbed the intruder while he was trying to infiltrate from Tarkundi area in Rajouri district.
The apprehended intruder, initially identified as Mohammad Usman, aged 27 years, is a resident of Kotli district, Kerela village of PoJK, the official said. Officials said that the alert troops picked up the suspicious movement of the man on Line of Control, thwarted his attempt to infiltrate and detained him. An official said that the man after undergoing questioning by the security forces was later handed over to 6-JAKLI Gambir for further proceedings.

The arrest of the alleged intruder comes over two weeks after a father-son duo from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) was apprehended by the Army near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The accused identified as Sardar Abdul Hamid and his son Abbass of Polas village were nabbed by the troops in the Gulpur sector soon after they intruded into this side from across the border.
However, security forces said that no incriminating material was recovered from the possession of the father son duo. The arrest of the intruders came over a week after five soldiers were burnt to death in an army vehicle in the Tota Gali Bhatta Durian forest area of Poonch. Investigators said that the militants laid an ambush on the army personnel and first attacked the vehicle with a grenade and later opened fire on the soldiers.
