Himachal Pradesh: Heavy rains trigger landslides, block roads in Chamba

A large number of roads have been blocked after heavy rainfall triggered landslide at Himachal's Chamba district. Also, a video has surfaced in which some people are crossing the path by lifting the bike on their shoulder.

Chamba: Heavy rainfall on Friday night triggered landslide at Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, blocking a large number of roads.

People of Chamba district facing problems as the landslides lead to the closure of the routes.

"Passengers and vehicles got stuck at several places as traffic was suspended after the roads got blocked by landslides", SDM Churah Hem Chand Verma said.

"A video has surfaced in which some people are crossing the path by lifting the bike on the shoulder", he added.

The orders have been made to the Public Works Department to open the routes so that people do not face any problem.

But, the PWD has not even sent the machine to open the routes and no necessary steps have been taken by the department to solve the problem of the public, he further informed.
