New Delhi: As the poll battle has begun in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday promised the state big incentives including 300 units of free electricity for each family. However, this announcement was followed by an immediate attack from the ruling Congress party in the state. Punjab Congress MLA Rajkumar Verka held a press conference in Delhi immediately after the announcements made by the Delhi Chief Minister.
While speaking to the media, Verka said, "Arvind Kejriwal is in Chandigarh today with his fake promises. He is saying that he will bring Delhi model to Punjab. But I want to ask him, what has he done in Delhi? Even during the lockdown, shopkeepers had to pay 15-20k for their electricity bill. Basically, a fraud person is making fraud promises in Punjab."
Kejriwal announced in Punjab that if his party comes to power in the state, the power bill waiver promise will be met immediately. Also, he asserted that by giving 300 units of free electricity, 77-80 per cent of people will have zero electricity bills. On this, Verka said, "In Delhi, how many electricity bills gets waived off by the Government? Women, shopkeepers, sweepers call him a 'fraud man' in Delhi. They also complain about the hike in electricity prices. The person who is not able to handle Delhi, how can he make promises to Punjab?"
Kejriwal also pointed out the ongoing crisis within the Punjab Congress and promised the state a proper investigation in the Sacrilege matter as well. However, Verka, attacking Delhi CM further, said, "A person who had to apologize for making wrong allegations, how can he give justice in this matter?"
