Congress slams Haryana minister over farm law protest

Congress leader Ashok Arora slammed Haryana Home Minister over his statement to stop Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from protesting against farm legislation in the state. He said that Anil Vij is no one to stop Rahul Gandhi and in a democracy, everyone has the right to speak and travel wherever they want.

Kurukshetra: Slamming Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij over his statement to not allow Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to enter the state to protest against the three farm legislation, the Congress leaders Ashok Arora said Haryana is not Vij's property and in a democracy, everyone has the right to speak and travel wherever they want.

Ashok Arora said that the Congress is in full support of farmers' movement. The BJP is a fascist party and the BJP has no faith in democracy.

Speaking on Rahul Gandhi's visit to Kurukshetra district, Ashok Arora said, "timing of his visit has not been fixed for Rahul Gandhi to reach. The time will be finalised after a meeting in Delhi."

Arora further said that today there is deep anger in every section including the farmers of the state. The leaders of JJP and BJP are not being allowed to enter the village, black flags are being shown.

Arora also targeted state president OP Dhankhar who said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi wants to make her ineligible son a prime minister with the help of lies. Arora said that it is not a big deal for the congress family to make Rahul Gandhi Prime Minister.

According to the Congress, Rahul Gandhi will hold tractor rallies in Punjab and Haryana from October 3 to 5 to protest against the farm laws.

"On October 5, the protest will begin from Dudhan Sadhan (Patiala) with a public meeting, and the tractors will then travel 10km to Pehowa border, from where Rahul Gandhi will enter Haryana, for a series of programmes there," a Congress spokesperson said.

According to sources in Haryana Congress, Rahul Gandhi is likely to address rallies at Kaithal and Pipli in Kurukshetra district along the national highway on October 5 after which he will return to Delhi.

Speaking over Baroda by-election, he claimed that the Congress will win by a huge vote.
