New Delhi: The Congress party reacted sharply two days after Union Minister Giriraj Singh had said that Bihar too needs to work on "love jihad" as many other states are in the process of making laws for it.

"The BJP does not believe in love and brotherhood that's why it talks to bring such kind of law. The aim of BJP leaders is to divide society by implementing such laws. They also want to spoil the communal harmony in the society," he said.

Anwar also alleged that the BJP is raising these issues to divert public attention from the main issues like the economy, inflation, unemployment and so on.

He further said that there is no need to implement such laws in Bihar and the government should focus on solving real issues of the public.
