దిల్లీలో ప్రమాదకర స్థాయికి వాయుకాలుష్యం

దీపావళికి ముందే దిల్లీలో వాయు కాలుష్యం తీవ్ర స్థాయికి చేరింది. తక్షణమే నియంత్రణ చర్యలు చేపట్టాలని కేంద్ర కాలుష్య నియంత్రణ మండలి హెచ్చరించింది.

దేశ రాజధాని దిల్లీలో దీపావళికి ముందే కాలుష్యం కోరలు చాస్తోంది. గాలి నాణ్యత అంతకంతకూ క్షీణిస్తోంది. రాజధాని వాసులు పీల్చేందుకు స్వచ్ఛమైన గాలి లేక కాలుష్యంతో పోరాడుతున్నారు. గాలి నాణ్యత సూచీలు రోజురోజుకీ ప్రమాద ఘంటికలను మోగిస్తున్నాయి. కేజ్రీవాల్ ప్రభుత్వం కాలుష్య నియంత్రణ చర్యలకు సమాయత్తమవుతోంది.

నగరంలో భవన నిర్మాణాలు, భారీ వాహనాలు, స్థానిక చెత్త దహనాలతో పాటు పొరుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో పంట వ్యర్థాలను తగలబెట్టడం వల్ల వస్తున్న పొగ కాలుష్యానికి కారణంగా వాతావరణ అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు.

ప్రమాదకర స్థాయిలో నాణ్యత సూచీలు

దిల్లీ నగరంలో నిన్నటి గాలి నాణ్యత గణాంకాలు చూస్తే 500 పాయింట్లకు గానూ 315 ఇండెక్స్ పాయింట్లు నమోదయ్యాయి. శుక్రవారం 311గా ఉంది. ఈ పాయింట్లు చాలా ప్రమాదకర స్థాయిని సూచించాయి. కేంద్ర కాలుష్య నియంత్రణ మండలి చెప్పిన లెక్కల ప్రకారం దిల్లీ రెడ్ జోన్‌లో ఉంది. నగరంలోని కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో పీఎం 10, పీఎం 2.5 విలువలు ఆరెంజ్ కలర్ బార్‌ను చూపిస్తూ అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలంటూ హెచ్చరిస్తున్నాయి.

పర్యావరణహిత టపాసులే..

దీపావళికి పర్యావరణహిత టపాసులే కాల్చాలని, అదీ పరిమిత సమయం వరకేనని ఇప్పటికే ప్రభుత్వం ఆదేశాలు ఇచ్చింది. రానున్న గండాన్ని గట్టెక్కించేందుకు నవంబర్ 4 నుంచి 15 వరకు సరి-బేసి విధానాన్ని అమలు చేయాలని దిల్లీ ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించింది. 2016లో అమలు చేసిన ఈ విధానంతో కొంత ఉపశమనం దక్కుతుందని అధికారులు భావిస్తున్నారు.

STORYLINE
Fresh protests broke out in the Spanish province of Catalonia late Friday as demonstrators gathered outside the regional government headquarters in Barcelona.
They were protesting at a police crackdown on students who took part in previous pro-independence rallies.
Holding flaming torches, the demonstrators paraded through the streets under a large banner reading "Freedom" before making their way to the government building.
Some wore handcuffs to show their solidarity with those detained as a result of the crackdown.
"The young people who were unfairly detained did not do anything wrong," said one of the protestors, Maria Llaurado. "In a country that calls itself democratic, these kind of things cannot happen.
Barcelona has been the focus of unrest since the conviction of nine separatist leaders a week and a half ago.
