Mungeli (Chhattisgarh) : In the Ilchpur village of the Chilfi police station area of Lormi, Chhattisgarh, three young women were attacked. Of them, 34-year-old Lekha Tonde was murdered by unknown people last night. According to the information received, Lekha Tonde was a class-2 education worker. She used to teach in a government school in the Marwahi area of the Pendra district.
As per sources, she was having a love affair with a young man from Illachpur. The youth is an ad hoc lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department at NIT (National Institute of Technology), Raipur. Teacher Lekha Tonde's brother is getting married on 22nd May. In such a situation, Lekha had come to her village. Lekha and her two younger sisters went to their relative's house to sleep at night.
Last night around 3:30 am, Lekha came out onto the road. Her sisters heard, woke up from sleep and saw that Lekha was being surrounded and killed by 4-5 youths and 2-3 women. When the younger sisters - Nandini and Reena - tried to rescue Lekha, the attackers also injured them. Both the sisters ran away and informed the family members about the incident.

The family members came to the spot and found Lekha lying unconscious on the ground. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and got Lekha Tonde's sisters admitted to the hospital for treatment. One sister is in critical condition. The police have started investigating this matter. A police officer said, "This whole matter is of Chilfi police station area. Where Lekha Tonde of Illachpur village was killed by someone with a sharp weapon. Case and Panchnama are being processed. Inquiry is being done on the basis of suspicion. The matter is understood to be a love affair."
The police are interrogating 6 people from a suspect's house. The police say that some of the suspects' companions who had come to the village by car from outside may have also been involved in the incident. The way the deceased came out of the house at midnight pointed towards the possibility of her love affair. And the mobile of the deceased is also missing since the incident. The police suspect that the accused has also taken the mobile with him. After the incident, the police reached the spot and is recording the statements of the family members and eyewitnesses.
