Watch: People take away bundles of cash thrown in drain in Bihar's Rohtas

Rohtas (Bihar): The message spread to the surroundings in Bihar's Rohtas town that someone had thrown a gunny bag full of notes in a drain on Saturday morning. On hearing the news, people in hordes waded into the drain water in search of currencies. Within no time, elderly persons, children and young people were searching for currencies. It was free for all.  

The lure for lucre did not stop them from venturing into the dirty drain full of slush and waste material. Waste was floating in the drain and people were seen looking for notes in the dirty water. A guy was seen carrying a wad of banknotes. Whether it was fake or genuine, was a matter of investigation. 

Police also arrived at the spot to investigate the matter. But by the time, everything was finished. The mad rush for money was over. A few of them were searching for leftovers. A police officer said that it was just a rumour. An eyewitness Akshay Kumar said that he was going to attend the coaching classes. "So, I left the place without paying much attention to it. I was getting late for the coaching classes. I saw people searching for money in the drain." Pawan Kumar, a local, said that the money was real no doubt. "People looted the money within no time. Someone threw a gunny bag full of cash in the morning. It was a huge sum of money. Those who looted the cash will have a gala time."
