According to reports, during the past few days, Indian troops have been seen moving towards the border in Chamoli in convoys.

According to military sources, the deployment will be increased along the border, and troops will also partake military exercises.

The development comes even as the Chamoli district administration had started granting permission to shepherds to carry out grazing activities in the border areas as part of 'unlock 1.0'.

Joshimath SDM Anil Chanyal informed that around 84 shepherds have been granted permission for grazing their animals in Barahoti, Rimkhim, and Mana areas.

Uttarakhand, which shares a 345 kilometre-long border with China, has witnessed multiple instances of Chinese incursion in the past, due to which the Indian Army and ITBP troops maintain constant vigil along the border.
