MP Azam Khan's luxury resort gets demolition notice

The Rampur Development Authority has served a demolition notice to Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan's luxury resort 'Humsafar' in Uttar Pradesh. The resort had allegedly been built on a nullah owned by the Irrigation department.

Rampur (UP): Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan's luxury resort 'Humsafar' in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur is now facing trouble following allegations of land grabbing.

The Rampur Development Authority (RDA) has served a demolition notice saying that the resort has to be demolished within a fortnight.

Allegations of irregularities have also been raised by the district administration regarding the encroachment of government land in the resort.

As per reports, the resort had allegedly been built on a nullah owned by the Irrigation department.

The boundary wall of the 'Humsafar' resort was demolished by the district administration in 2019.

Speaking on the issue, Baldev Singh Aulakh, state jal shakti minister, said that it is being done under the legal process as there is an allegation of land grabbing against Azam Khan.

He further said that illegal activities will never go unnoticed during the reign of Chief Minister Adityanath's government.

It is to be noted that Azam Khan is currently in Sitapur jail in connection with a forgery case. Apart from Khan, his wife and son had surrendered before a local court in Rampur in February. They have also been lodged in jail since then.
