Girl from Coimbatore sells her anklet to serve 'kabasura kudineer' to villagers

A young girl from Coimbatore, working as a coolie in a yarn factory sold her anklet to contribute the sum in making of Kabasura kudineer- a powder which is considered as an immunity booster.

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu): A small cog might make a huge difference. A young girl working as a coolie in a yarn factory chose to do it. As COVID-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the globe, the country which is on extended lockdown is finding all means and ways to fight it.

In order to cope with the pandemic, Tamil Nadu government has formed a-11-member team of medical experts which suggests the government the measures which have the potential to prevent the spread of the deadly disease.

The recent study reveals that the virus proves deadly among those people who have poor immunity power. Taking the note of the research, the team has suggested the government to use ayurvedic medicines in order to improve the immunity strength of the people.

Subsequently, the team has advised the state government to distribute Kabasura kudineer- (a powder used in making a herbal concoction) which is often considered as an immunity booster.

Soon after the immunity powder got its official nod, the various organisation has started manufacturing the immunity booster. The booster then distributed among the local people.

When it came to the notice of Kavipriya, a coolie by profession and a resident of Annur, Coimbatore, decided to contribute whatever she can.

The 22-year-old girl, with her nod of parents, sold her anklet and contributed the amount in making of Kabasura kudineer.

When the locals come to know about her noble gesture, the villagers deposited Rs 20,000 in her account. Later, Kavipriya donated all the sum to the organisation involved in the manufacturing of the Kabasura kudineer.

Speaking to ETV Bharat she said, "As our community does not have ample amount to purchase the immunity booster, I have decided to sell my anklet to serve my villagers."
