Jaisalmer (Rajasthan): In a tragic incident, a young man died at the scene after a live bomb exploded at the Pokaran firing range in Jaisalmer district. The incident took place late at night on Thursday. The impact was such that the body got totally mutilated.
According to sources, Ravindra Jat, a 23-year-old man who works as a laborer used to pick up bomb scraps from the firing range.
Jat is the son of Hansaram Jat, a resident of Ganganagar under Dhandhala Police Station limits.

Ravindra was employed by a private contractor to pick up scrap, and it was the contractor's men who informed about the news to the police.
Police teams reached the spot and sent his body to a mortuary in Pokaran.
After the post mortem the body was handed over to family members.

The Jaisalmer Pokaran field firing range is a large area of the army where many maneuvers and tests are conducted throughout the year.
After practice, the work of collecting scrap materials is given on contract, and at times live bombs which are left out during the practice, leads to such accidents.
