Mumbai: Maharashtra has been grappling with coronavirus since it's outbreak in India and has consistently had the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country.
However, there seems to be no respite from it with the number of positive cases in the state has increased dramatically.
The total number of Coronavirus patients reached around 13 lakh with the total death toll reaching 33,000.
As the continuous spike in the cases is reported, the beds in the hospitals have become an issue with a shortage of manpower coming up as another.

Mumbai
Also seen as the epic centre of the infection in the state, the number of positive cases has increased tremendously in the city.
There are 17,678 beds in municipal and private hospitals in Mumbai including the hospitals dedicated to Coronavirus treatment, Corona Care Center, and Jumbo COVID Centre.
However, due to the huge increase in the number of corona patients, the number of beds in these hospitals is insufficient. The Corona Jumbo Center in the city has 14,728 beds. Of these, 1916 are ICU beds and 8907 are oxygen beds.

The number of ventilator beds for emergency patients is 1133. Considering the ever-increasing number of patients in the city, the municipality set up two Corona Care Centers. Of these, Corona Care Center One can isolate 46,589 infected patients. At Corona Care Center Two, 23,739 infected patients are being kept in isolation.
Thane
Just like Mumbai, the Coronavirus infection has spread rapidly in Thane as well. Therefore, a Jumbo COVID Centre was also set up in Thane. It has a total of 7319 oxygen beds of which 4096 beds are currently empty. The total number of ICU beds is 1663. Of these, 1100 beds are empty. The total number of ventilator beds is 626 and 313 beds are empty.
Pune
With Pune being the worst-hit, the Pimpri-Chinchwad area reported the highest number of corona infections. To tackle the cases, a jumbo COVID Centre was set up in Pune. However, the chaos in this COVID centre came to the fore after a journalist, Pandurang Raikar died here.
A journalist of the news channel, Raikar lost his life as he did not get a bed and an ambulance on time.
Datta Ekbote, a former mayor of Pune also passed away as he could not get a hospital bed.
Other arrangements were also made to treat Corona patients at various hospitals. A total of 19,836 beds were arranged in Pune. The number of ICU beds with ventilators is 710. Out of which 49 beds are vacant at present. There are 947 ICU beds without a ventilator. The number of oxygen beds is 5,470 and 12,709 isolation beds.
Nashik
Corona patients are treated at six government hospitals and 64 private hospitals in urban and rural areas of Nashik. It has 148 ventilator beds where one is currently empty. The total number of oxygen beds is 1,067 of which 263 are currently vacant. When it comes to the total number of ICU beds, there 275 of these, 54 ICU beds remain.
The number of general beds is 2,235. The number of general beds vacant is 151.
Nagpur
The COVID ward of the government medical college has 600 beds. It has 200 ICU beds. There are 83 beds with ventilators. The Mayo COVID ward in the city has 600 beds. Of these, 160 are ICU beds. The number of ventilator beds is 82. In other 72 hospitals, 5,000 beds have been reserved for people suffering from Coronavirus.

Aurangabad
The city has 800 beds for Corona patients of which there are 187 ventilators and 902 oxygen beds. Currently, 5,710 patients are undergoing treatment.
All public and private hospitals have no beds or ventilators to treat patients due to overcrowding. The names of most patients are on the hospital's waiting list right now.
Jalgaon
The number of Corona positive patients has reached 43,897. Out of which 32,941 patients have been cured and at present, there are 9,860 active patients.
Of the active patients, 669 are being treated on oxygen beds. While 287 emergency patients are undergoing treatment on a ventilator in the intensive care unit.
Considering the availability of beds in such a situation, there are 12,854 beds available in the dedicated COVID Hospital and COVID Care Centres in the entire district. There are 263 beds at the Intensive Care Unit and 1 thousand 643 beds for oxygen. At present, the total number of beds is 12 thousand 854. The number of ICU beds is 263. The number of oxygen beds is 1,643.
Akola
There are 450 beds in private and government hospitals in the city. Of these, 94 beds are ICUs.
