Farmers to celebrate BJP's defeat in West Bengal polls

Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni has expressed joy over the defeat of the BJP in the West Bengal Assembly elections. He said that the entire farmer community, who is protesting against the new farm laws, will distribute sweets and light 'diyas' (small earthen lamps) to express their joy.

Sonipat: Following the indications of the Trinamool Congress's (TMC) victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections 2021, BKU leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni on Sunday said that the entire farmer community will celebrate the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) defeat.

TMC's victory in the Bengal Assembly polls is almost confirmed and there is a wave of happiness among farmers who are agitating against the farm laws introduced by the BJP-led government.

Congratulating farmers across the nation, Chadhuni said that laddus will be distributed and people will also light diyas to celebrate BJP's defeat.

"Now the countdown of this government has started," he said.

"Today BJP is defeated in West Bengal and in next Uttar Pradesh elections, farmers drag BJP out of government. I warn BJP to mend its ways. If the party does not accept our demands then the entire farmer community will throw BJP out of power from across India," BKU leader Chaduni added.
