Anand (Gujarat): When all the political parties are gearing up for the upcoming panchayat elections of Gujarat, shocking news has hit Anand district Congress. More than 1500 congress workers from Khandali village of Anand district have joined BJP in the presence of district in-charge Jaydrath Singh Parmar.

Bharat Solanki, a staunch supporter of the Congress party and Sarpanch of Khandali village panchayat and Rajendrasinh Gohil, chairman of the construction committee of the Anand district panchayat, left the Congress with his fellow workers and became members of the saffron party.

Bharat Solanki said, "Congress has neglected the workers and that led us to this party change. The country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's has proved the party's slogan of development in the true sense. Influenced by the ideology of the BJP and the constant disregard shown by the Congress party, today we have parted ways with the Congress and wore the saffron. The injustice done by the Congress party in the recent election of the board of directors of Amul Dairy has also pushed us to take this decision."

Leaders from Sardar Patel to Madhavsinh Solki belonged to Anand district and they succeeded in strengthening the power of Congress Party in the whole Charotar region of Gujarat. Even in the current times, frontline Congress leaders like Bharatsinh Solanki and Amit Chavda also come from Anand district. But now, Congress workers in the district are annoyed with the local leaders and congress is creating a series of defeats in the political scene of Gujarat. With the party weakening day by day, it is less likely to win the upcoming district and taluka panchayat elections.
