Christians cremated as per Hindu rituals in Delhi

Due to the increasing deaths from Covid-19, the city's cemeteries have run out of space to bury the dead. Due to the severe lack of space in the cemeteries, two Christians were cremated in the Ghazipur crematorium as per Hindu customs and traditions.

Sushil, the chief priest of the Ghazipur crematorium, said the funeral of two Christians, who died of Corona, was performed in the crematorium as per the Hindu customs and traditions. Due to the lack of space in the cemeteries of Delhi, the family members approached the crematorium for their last rites.

Before the last rites, a written application has been taken from the family to prevent any disputes in the future. Along with the application of consent, documents were also requested from the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, where they died.

The priest added that all the necessary documents have also been submitted to the family so there is no dispute in the future.
