Bilaspur: Breaking all the stereotypes prevailing in Indian society, women are making a mark in various sectors and transforming the nation to become an epoch of change.
Women especially living in rural India are currently playing a central role in the escalation of the economy and improving rural livelihoods and overall wellbeing.
On the day of International Day of Rural Women, ETV Bharat is celebrating women living in rural India and their invaluable contribution to society.
One such woman is Satrupa Anant, a 22-year-old woman hailing from village Mangla of Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh who has broken all the stereotypes and has become Chhattisgarh's first woman certified two-wheeler mechanic.
She is also the first woman to complete the course in the automobile sector from a private institution as an automobile mechanic.
Satrupa owns an automobile garage in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur were she is the only women motor mechanic in the area.
She doesn't only run a garage but also trains youth from an economically weak background and also to people living in their villages.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Satrupa said, "After completing the course as an automobile mechanic, I opened a small garage near my home. Soon, with everyone's support, I reached my goal."
She further added, "Earlier, I had a kutcha house, but after two years of hard work now I have constructed my own house."
Today, everyone praises Satrupa for her fine work.
Satarupa has not only set an example in society but she is also performing the important responsibility of inspiring others.
Women like Satrupa are empowering youths from marginalised backgrounds to achieve the targetted goal.
