Vaccination drive in Bihar going well: Health Minister Mangal Pandey

Bihar Health Minister and senior BJP leader Mangal Pandey has said that the Covid vaccination campaign is going well in Bihar. So far, 2 crores 10 lakh vaccine doses have been administered. About eight lakh doses are being administered daily. We will try to vaccinate all the people by December, Pandey said.

New Delhi: Bihar Health Minister and senior BJP leader Mangal Pandey has said that the Covid vaccination campaign is going well in Bihar. So far, 2 crores 10 lakh vaccine doses have been administered. About eight lakh doses are being administered daily. We will try to vaccinate all the people by December, he said.

Health Minister Mangal Pandey said some villages are flooded or waterlogged due to heavy rains. In such villages, vaccination is being done using boats. He added that 849 vehicles are being run under the name of 'Tika Express'. These vehicles are going to villages and cities, conducting vaccination drives along the way. The minister said that old and handicapped people are also getting vaccines through the Tika Express. Control numbers have been issued in every district for the old and handicapped people as well. There is no shortage of vaccines in Bihar and the state is getting all possible help from the Centre.

On the question of the third wave of Covid-19, the minister said that new oxygen plants will be installed at 122 places by August 31. Oxygen tanks are also being installed in hospitals. The number of doctors is being increased. The state is also appointing Ayush doctors on 3270 posts, the reappointment of 8500 Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) through the National Health Mission. 1600 hospital buildings are being built while necessary equipment and infrastructure are being added.

The BJP leader also appealed to the people of Bihar to follow the Covid protocol. He has appealed to people to put on masks, follow social distancing, and maintain Covid appropriate behaviour.
