Munger (Bihar) : Assailants openly challenged the Bihar police by shooting dead a BMP (Bihar Military Police) jawan just 100 meters away from the police station at Munger in the State. The deceased jawan was identified as Aman Kumar alias Bablu Yadav, a resident of Kemkha in Vasudevpur area in the Munger district.
Aman Kumar was actually posted along with some other BMP soldiers at the Bihar Special Armed Police Force (BSAPF) located at Darbhanga Airport had come to their home in Munger on leave. The brutal attack took place when he came home to his family in Munger for Dussehra festival celebrations. He belonged to the BSAPF-7, Katihar.
Following the killing, there is an atmosphere of panic in the area after the murder. After the incident, staff and officials from nearby police stations including the DSP reached the spot and are busy investigating the matter. The assailants opened fire on Aman Kumar at Bajrangbali junction near ITC, which was very near his house, as he was returning home on his bike.
Police sources said that the assailants shot the jawan in his head, leading to his instantaneous death. The sudden, untimely death of jawan Aman Kumar left his family members and relatives in shock and grief. Aman is survived by wife and five children.
