Perth: Australia coach Justin Langer struck a confident note and backed the national team selected for the upcoming three-match One Day Internationals and three T20 matches are good enough to beat India.
Langer was the coach when India toured Australia the last time - in 2018-19 - when they registered their first-ever Test series victory Down Under.
Unlike in that series, Australia will be back to their full strength boosted by the inclusion of their formidable batting pair of Steve Smith and David Warner, who missed out the previous series due to suspension.
"I think we will meet up together on the morning of the first ODI, so not perfect. But we keep saying, well, we'll just keep tying it up with I like great Johnny Williams and the saying, 'we'll get on with it'... We've got to get the show on the road. And it's not perfect. But I'll have certainly at this stage, Andrew McDonald, Sri (S Sriram), maybe a couple of other coaches who are coming from the IPL. They'll help the boys stay prepared," Langer added.
Langer is also beaming about the selection of the exciting prospect Cameron Green, who is a native of Langer's Western Australia and is already marked for greatness by some of the former Australian players.
But first up, Langer will have to reconcile to being cut off from a majority of his players till the morning of the first ODI match in Sydney on 27th of November
The Indian Premier League wraps up on the 10th of November and the Australian players would only return home on the 11th. They would serve two weeks of quarantine upon arrival and that would leave Langer seeing his players - Captain Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Glen Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Adam Zampa - only on the day of the 1st ODI match in Sydney.
