Hyderabad: Author-activist, Fatima Bhutoo, the granddaughter of former Pakistan prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto tied the knot at her Karachi home on Friday in presence of family and friends. While announcing the wedding on social media, Fatima said she married Graham at her family home at 70 Clifton. “Yesterday, Graham and I married in a small nikkah ceremony in my family home, 70 Clifton,” Fatiam wrote.

The author also put the pictures of her and Graham clad in the wedding costume. In another post, Fatima wrote, “My brother Zulfikar (junior) tied my grandmother’s imam zamin on me and the ceremony was conducted in my grandfather’s libraries, one of my most beloved places on earth”. “Behind us were my aunts, uncle and father’s childhood photos and an original People’s Party flag placed by my grandfather himself,” she said.

Fatima's brother, Zulfikar junior too announced the wedding on Instagram. “On behalf of our father, Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto and the Bhutto family, I’m very happy to share some happy news. My sister Fatima and Graham were married in an intimate nikkah ceremony this evening at our home, 70 Clifton,” Zulfikar Jr said.

He said that the ceremony was attended by Fatima’s loved ones in their grandfather’s library, “a place that means a lot to my dear sister”. “Due to the difficult circumstances felt by our fellow countrymen and women, we all felt it would be inappropriate to celebrate lavishly. Please keep Fatima and Graham (Gibran) in your prayers. God bless you and thank you,” Zulfikar said.

Fatima, who has worked extensively in the fund raising after the recent devastating Pakistan floods, has authored many books. Some of them include 'Songs of Blood and Sword: A Daughter’s Memoir', 'The Shadow of the Crescent Moon', 'The Shadow of the Crescent Moon', 'The Runaways' and ’8:50 Am October 8, 2005 (Stories of Hope and Courage from the Earthquake in Pakistan)'.
