Muscat (Oman) : Two oil tankers were hit by blasts in Gulf of Oman on Thursday morning, reports Iranian state media. The causes of the blasts is yet unknown.
The affected tankers were reportedly flying Panama and Marshall Island flags and were heading Singapore and Taiwan from UAE and Saudi Arabia.
This was the second time in a month when ships were hit in the Gulf of Oman. In May four tankers got hit.
Thursday's explosions were reported by Iran's Al-Alam television network citing local sources in Oman. However, UK's Maritime Trade Operations put out an alert on Thursday about the incident.
US Navy is also investigating the incident.
