Pakistan's National Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the attack on the temple in Rahim Yar Khan.

New Delhi: Pakistan's National Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the attack on the temple in Rahim Yar Khan.

The resolution has been presented in the National Assembly by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan.

Khan while expressing his views in the National Assembly said that stern action would be taken against the culprits.

He said, "We as Muslims and human beings are saddened by this incident adding that whoever committed this incident has nothing to do with Islam or humanity and we are all one on the issue".

"Parliament is committed to protect the rights of minorities and provide full protection to their places of worship," he added.

This comes after India on Thursday, expressed deep concern over the mob attack on the Hindu temple and said that incidents of violence, discrimination and persecution against minority communities including attacks on places of worship have continued 'unabated' in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, taking cognisance of the issue, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed has fixed the matter before court on Friday, 6th August, at Islamabad with the direction of the Chief Secretary Punjab and IGP Punjab to appear along with report today. He has also summoned Dr Ramesh Kumar, MNA and Patron in chief Pakistan Hindu Council.

Moreover, on Friday, Pakistan's Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has condemned the recent attack on the Hindu temple and has said that those who have hurt the religious sentiments of members of the Hindu community deserve severe punishment. Pakistan is not India where there is a fascist government.

The Pakistani Charge d’Affaires in New Delhi was also summoned on Thursday afternoon and a firm protest was lodged expressing grave concern at this reprehensible incident and the continued attacks on the freedom of religion of the minority community and their places of religious worship, India's external affairs ministry said. India further called upon Pakistan to ensure the safety, security of its minority communities.
