Thane (Maharashtra): Afzal Izhar Sheikh (37) a Bhiwandi based cloth merchant's physical relationship with model Ankita Singh alias Pooja Yadav has turned into a costly affair.
The victim, Afzal Izhar Sheikh who runs a clothing-cutting scrub business in Bhiwandi, was introduced to Ankita Singh, who works in the modeling sector in Mumbai by Isa Ansari.

As the friendship between Afzal and Ankita grew the model said that she’s running low on money and asked the former for help. Afzal having discussed the matter with Isa, initially gave her Rs 5 lakh.
Later, Ankita tried to lure Afzal, saying that he could earn Rs 5 lakh monthly by investing Rs 25 lakh in a web series. However, the merchant did not invest the huge amount.
Despite repeated requests by Ankita to Afzal, the latter was not willing to pay her the amount.

As Afzal refused to pay the model Rs 25 lakh towards investment, the latter filed a rape complaint against him. She initially lodged a rape complaint on January 28, 2021, at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai against Afzal and demanded Rs 20 lakh to withdraw the rape complaint.
Afzal who got frightened immediately sent Rs 3 lakh via a friend to the model and assured her that the remaining amount will be paid after the complaint is withdrawn. However, the model refused to withdraw the complaint and continued to threaten Afzal saying that she would revoke the complaint only after she was paid Rs 20 lakh in full.

Helpless, the merchant lodged a complaint with the Bhoiwada Police in Bhiwandi against the model and her friend Isa Ansari.
Based on the complaint, the police have traced the model and her friend and arrested them. Police Inspector Rajendra Pawar is investigating the case.
