Mother leaves newborn in Yamuna river for being transgender

A transgender baby was rescued from the Yamuna river in Mathura. The infant wrapped in a white towel and was found floating on a vessel.

Mathura (Uttar Pradesh): A newborn was seen floating on a vessel by localites at the Chamunda Ghat under the Vrindavan police station area of ​​Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.

On being informed by the locals, police reached the spot and rescued the baby. The infant was then sent for medical examination to the district hospital in collaboration with the childline team.

Doctor Kishore Mathur of the district hospital said that the child is healthy, weighs around 3Kgs and is a transgender.

Police suspect that the mother might have discarded the newborn due to the child being transgender and hence left the child in the river.

However, the child is hale and hearty and has no other issues.
