Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu said that the government would soon finalise the regulations for drones in the country and laid foundation stones for several infrastructural works for seven airports.

New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu on Friday, stated that the central government would soon finalise the regulations for drones in the country.

Addressing the gathering, on sidelines of laying the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth Rs 497 crore for seven airports across India, Prabhu remarked that comprehensive development of the aviation sector would lead to the economic development of the country.

"Centre lays special emphasis on connecting Northeast India and under UDAN scheme, the first-ever international flight will soon take off from Guwahati airport,"he added.

Prabhu further stated that they were planning to construct 100 more airports, in addition to the existing 103 airports in the country, with an investment of 65 billion dollars.

He later inaugurated airport infrastructure projects worth Rs 132.15 crore for three airports.

The seven airports, for which foundation stones were laid for its respective infrastructure projects are: Trivandrum, Mangaluru, Madurai, Rupsi, Jaipur, Amritsar and Imphal.

He added that we have total 103 airports in the country and we are now planning to construct 100 more airports with an investment 65 billion dollars.





Body:While addressing the audience, Suresh Prabhu said "Comprehensive Development in aviation sector will lead to economic development of country. Centre lays special emphasis on connecting Northeast  India. Under UDAN, first ever International Flight will take off from Guwahati airport."


Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu was speaking here in New Delhi after laying the foundation stone of infrastructure projects worth Rs 497 crore for seven airports across the country. He also inaugurated airport infrastructure projects worth Rs 132.15 crore for three airports.



Conclusion:The seven airports where the foundation stones were laid for infrastructure projects are Trivandrum, Mangaluru, Madurai, Rupsi, Jaipur, Amritsar and Imphal.
