The announcement was made by the state-in-charge of Congress in Rajasthan Ajay Maken on Friday. The development comes at a time when speculations are rife regarding an upcoming cabinet expansion in Rajasthan.

Jaipur: In the run-up to a cabinet reshuffle by Congress-led government in Rajasthan, three ministers holding important portfolios resigned from their posts. The announcement was made by the state-in-charge of Congress in Rajasthan Ajay Maken on Friday. The much-awaited cabinet expansion set to take place reportedly in the third week of November after a nod from Central leadership.

Speaking to reporters, Maken said that Health Minister Raghu Sharma, Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara and Revenue Minister Harish Choudhary have offered to resign by writing a letter to party interim president Sonia Gandhi.

Maken also said that their offer of resigning will be considered as resignation and they have already been given new responsibilities. Maken reached Jaipur today. He was received at the airport by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and party state president Govind Singh Dotasara.

Last week, Gehlot met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi. However, speaking to the media after the meeting, he avoided direct reply to a question as to when the cabinet expansion will take place.
