Pakistan trying to disrupt peace in J&K: DGP Dilbag Singh

Jammu and Kashmir (जम्मू और कश्मीर) DGP Dilbag Singh (पुलिस महानिदेशक दिलबाग सिंह) on Wednesday having reviewed the security situation in Kishtwar district said that Pakistan and its supporters are trying to disrupt peace and order in the state. The J&K DGP also told police officers and personnel to improve, strengthen surveillance & information gathering methods at ground level.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir (जम्मू और कश्मीर) DGP Dilbag Singh (पुलिस महानिदेशक दिलबाग सिंह) on Wednesday said Pakistan (पाकिस्तान) and its supporters are trying to disrupt peace and order in the state. The DGP visited Kishtwar (किश्तवाड़) district and took stock of the security operations in the area ahead of the Independence Day (स्वतंत्रता दिवस) celebrations on August 15.

During his visit the DGP met told police officers and personnel to improve, strengthen surveillance and information gathering methods at ground level.

"In Pir Panchal (पीर पंचाल) and the Chenab region (चिनाब क्षेत्र), Pakistan has stepped up activities to carry out militancy (आतंकवाद) operations and recruit youth into the ranks," DGP Dibag Singh said, adding, that they are trying to disrupt law and order here, but the Jammu and Kashmir Police (जम्मू और कश्मीर पुलिस) and other security agencies are responding to their intentions. He lauded Kishtwar police for having tracked down miscreants, arresting them and thwarting their plans.

On being asked about the confiscation of Jamaat-e-Islami's (जमात-ए-इस्लामी) assets, DGP Singh (पुलिस महानिदेशक दिलबाग सिंह) said, "All security agencies, including Jammu and Kashmir and the central government, are working against militant or separatist ideology and they will not be allowed to flourish. Many properties of Jamaat-e-Islami (जमात-ए-इस्लामी) have been raided and confiscated and such operations will continue in the future."
