Meet the elevated ministers in Modi Government's cabinet reshuffle

Five existing ministers in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet have been elevated in the recent cabinet reshuffle. These ministers will assume important ministries under the new cabinet. Let's take a look at the five newly elevated ministers.

Hyderabad: Five existing ministers in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet have been elevated in the recent cabinet reshuffle. These ministers will assume important ministries under the new cabinet. Let's take a look at the five newly elevated ministers.

Hardeep Singh Puri: The Delhi born former diplomat has been elevated as a cabinet minister. Hardeep Singh Puri was handling the important Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. He also served as an IFS officer and held several UN postings, including the Chairmanship of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee.

Kiren Rijiju: The Member of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh is a key figure representing the BJP in the Northeast. He was currently in charge of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Minister of State for Minority Affairs. Rijiju also served as Minister of State for Home Affairs from 2014-19. He is actively promoting sports in the country and has played an active part in India's 2020 Tokyo Olympics mission.

Mansukh Mandaviya: The Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat has been handling the Minister for State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (Independent Charge), and the Union Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers. He is known for his thoughtful and insightful speeches and for spreading awareness in the villages of Gujarat. He also holds a record of being the youngest MLA in Gujarat.

G. Kishan Reddy: Gangapuram Kishan Reddy is the BJP Member of Parliament from the Secunderabad constituency. Born in the Rangareddy district of Telangana, he served as the floor leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly before unanimously elected as the Telangana BJP President. He was given the charge of the Minister of State for Home Affairs. Reddy also played a major role in the Telangana statehood issue by doing a 22-day "Poru Yatra" covering 3,500 kilometres through 986 villages and 88 assembly constituencies.

Parshottam Rupala: Working as the Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Parshottam Rupala is a member of Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. Rupala has been a part of several parliamentary committees, before being appointed as Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in 2019. Rupala is a three-time MLA in Gujarat and has held several key appointments in the state.

Anurag Thakur: Another cabinet minister, who is elevated in Modi government's cabinet reshuffle, Anurag Thakur was handling the important portfolio of Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs. Anurag Thakur represents the Hamirpur constituency as the Lok Sabha MP and is also the only BJP leader, serving as an officer in the Territorial Army. He has also served as the President of BCCI and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.
