New Delhi: India has rejected the partial consular access proposed by Pakistan government for Kulbhushan Jadhav. It has asked Pakistan to provide unimpeded consular access to Jadhav free from the fear of intimidation reprisal.

India's denial came in the backdrop of conditions levied by Pakistan which talked about the videography of the entire event and presence of security officers in the same room.

Discussing in detail about India's move, former ambassador Anil Trigunayat blamed Pakistan for being difficult.

He said, "It is never done like that normally. I have attended many consular access cases. You go there and ask the person about his health and his needs. Most of the civilized governments do that. They are trying be difficult and safe from their end.'

Reminding Pakistan about the ICJ ruling which came on July 17 asking Pakistan to suspend death sentence given to India's former navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav by Pakistan's Military court and granting him consular as stated in the Vienna convention, the former diplomat said that Pakistan is obliged to follow it.
