Former finance secretary and retired IAS officer Subhash Chandra Garg has been appointed as an advisor to Andhra Pradesh Government. Garg has been assigned as an advisor for the subject related to resource mobilization and will hold the post for two years.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed former finance secretary government of India and retired IAS officer Subhash Chandra Garg as an advisor to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the subject related to resource mobilisation.

"Government after thorough consideration, hereby appoints Subhash Chandra Garg, IAS (Retd), former finance secretary, Government of India, as advisor to Chief Minister for the subject related to resource mobilization, duly assigning the rank of a Cabinet Minister," read an order issued by the state government on Sunday.

Garg has been assigned the rank of a Cabinet minister, according to an order issued by Principal Secretary (Political) Praveen Prakash and he will hold the post for two years. According to the order, during this time, SC Garg will "spend 15 days in a month on the assignment, including (7-10) days at the state headquarters."

The state government also appointed 2009-batch IAS officer Kartikeya Misra as special secretary for resource mobilisation and institutional finance in the finance department. He will be in charge of new revenue-generating projects taken up by various departments, an order issued by Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney said.

Misra has also been given the full additional charge of MD, AP State Financial Corporation. (ANI REPORT)
