Bengaluru: Sexual harassment of a Bangladeshi-based woman in the city by her friends has come to light in Bengaluru. Ramamurthy Nagar police have arrested four accused in connection with the incident.
Sagar, Mohammed Baba, Sheikh and Ridai Babu have been arrested by the police after the incident came to light. Police are searching for other two accused.
Some of the accused and the victim girl are from Bangladesh and came to India illegally and lived in NRI Colony in Ramamurthy Nagar, Bengaluru. The accused were also involved in prostitution, and they also captured a video of sexual assault.
The video was viral in the northeastern states of India and Bangladesh. The involvement of Bangladeshi nationals in the act came to light when Assam police investigated the video. They had also informed the Bangladesh police about this. The Bangladeshi police later found the victim's family members and informed the Bengaluru police about the alleged crime.
City police commissioner Kamal Pant visited the station immediately after the incident came to light. The accused who were absconding in Avalahalli, in Bengaluru rural district were arrested, and searh operation is underway for other accused.
