ఆస్ట్రేలియాలోని కార్చిచ్చు బాధితులకు తమ వంతు సాయం చేశారు ప్రముఖ టెన్నిస్ ప్లేయర్లు. 'ర్యాలీ ఫర్ రిలీఫ్' పేరుతో మ్యాచ్​లు నిర్వహించి సుమారు 5 మిలియన్ ఆస్ట్రేలియన్ డాలర్లు విరాళమందించారు.

ఆస్ట్రేలియాలో కార్చిచ్చు ఇంకా తగ్గడం లేదు. దీని ప్రభావం త్వరలో మొదలు కానున్న 'ఆస్ట్రేలియన్ ఓపెన్'పైనా పడింది. దాని నుంచి వస్తున్న పొగ వల్ల ఇప్పటికే చాలా మంది ప్లేయర్లు అస్వస్థతకు గురయ్యారు. అయితే బాధితుల్ని ఆదుకునేందుకు టెన్నిస్ స్టార్ క్రీడాకారులు ఒక్కటయ్యారు. టోర్నీలో పాల్గొనేందుకు వచ్చిన వారిలో కొంతమంది, తమ వంతు సాయం అందించేందుకు సిద్ధమయ్యారు. 'ర్యాలీ ఫర్ రిలీఫ్' పేరుతో మ్యాచ్​లు నిర్వహించారు. సుమారు 5 మిలియన్ ఆస్ట్రేలియన్ డాలర్లు పోగు చేశారు.

ఈ మ్యాచ్​ల్లో రోజర్ ఫెదరర్, రఫెల్ నాదల్, జకోవిచ్, సెరెనా విలియమ్స్, నిక్ కిర్గియోస్, కరోలినా వోజ్నియాకి, అలెగ్జాండర్ జ్వెరేవ్ తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు. అందుకు సంబంధించిన ఫొటోలు, వీడియోలను ఆస్ట్రేలియన్ ఓపెన్ తన ట్విట్టర్​లో పంచుకుంది.

"There have been many different threats pronounced from many different parties. On behalf of the EU, I can only speak only on behalf of the persons the EU has deployed there, in Iraq specifically. We are not scaling down and we are not leaving Iraq because our civilian missions or our diplomatic missions there is doing very important work to advance the relations between the EU and Iraq.  And our commitment to help the Iraqi people and to helping Iraq stays and we are working on advancing this on the bi-lateral level between the EU and Iraq, for the benefit of the Iraqi people. So, we are aware of the threats, that's why we are accessing the situation on an everyday basis and in terms of security of our staff. But we as the EU are not leaving Iraq and we are staying there."

STORYLINE:
The European Commission said on Wednesday that it would not be leaving Iraq or scaling down its missions there in response to the Iranian president's warning that European soldiers in the Mideast "could be in danger".
European Commission spokesperson Peter Stano said in Brussels that the EU's civilian and diplomatic missions in Iraq were doing very important work to advance relations between the EU and Iraq.  
Iran's president warned on Wednesday that European soldiers in the Mideast "could be in danger" after three nations challenged Tehran over breaking the limits of its nuclear deal.
Stano added: "We are aware of the threats. That's why we are accessing the situation on an everyday basis in terms of security of our staff. But we as the EU are not leaving Iraq and we are staying there."
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's remarks in a televised Cabinet meeting on Tuesday represent the first direct threat he's made to Europe, as tensions remain high between Tehran and Washington over US President Donald Trump withdrawing the US from the deal in May 2018.
