Gorakhpur: Geeta Tiwari, the first woman gangster of the district, who was in Gorakhpur divisional jail in Uttar Pradesh, has been sent to Deoria jail on Monday.
According to reports, Tiwari was accused of factionalism in the women's barrack and not behaving properly in jail.
Following this, the jail administration sought permission from the regime to shift her to another prison. After getting permission, she was sent to Deoria jail on Monday.
"Geeta Tiwari is the first woman gangster of the district and she was involved in several cases including the attempt to murder and robbery. After coming out on bail on October 20, Geeta had organized her granddaughter's birthday party on the night of November 1. It is alleged that many criminals were present at that party. When there was a dispute in the party on some matter, Geeta along with her colleagues shot and injured some people there," a police official said.
"After this, on November 2, the police arrested Geeta and her partner Jassu and sent them to jail. For the first time, in 2019, a case was filed against Tiwari in Tiwaripur police station in the year 2019," the police official added.
