Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay warned filmmaker SS Rajamouli over his upcoming period action drama RRR which is based on tribal leader Komaram Bheem. Sanjay said the tribal leader should not have been portrayed wearing a skull cap, which has hurt sentiments of people.

Siddipet (Telangana): Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay on Sunday warned filmmaker SS Rajamouli against hurting the sentiments of Hindus in his upcoming movie 'RRR'.

"We are opposing the act of keeping a skull cap on Komaram Bheem in Rajamouli's upcoming movie. Somebody put a skull cap on Komaram Bheem, the God of Tribals. Do the same people have the courage to put vermilion on other photos?" Sanjay said while addressing a public gathering in Siddipet.

"This movie hurts the feelings of tribal people. We respect them and it is our tradition. We cannot spare someone if emotions are hurt. We are not against Junior NTR, Ram Charan or any other actor in the movie. Nowadays it has become a trend to hurt the feelings of a community. We should all oppose this," he added.

The yet-to-release film kicked up a row after Komaram Bheem, who is revered as a God by tribals in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, was portrayed wearing a skull cap in one of the teasers.
