Hyd: Empty private bus catches fire, no casualties reported

An empty private bus caught fire in Kukatpally area of Hyderabad which was later doused by the fire tenders after hours of struggle. No injuries or casualties were reported.

Hyderabad (Telangana): A massive fire broke out in an empty private bus in Hyderabad's Kukatpally area on Saturday evening. After hours of struggle, Fire department officials successfully managed to douse the flames.

The incident took place at about 6.30 pm, after Venkat Rao, a resident of Prashanth Nagar, parked his bus for some repair and maintenance work.

Locals noticed flames erupting from the bus and they informed the fire tenders.

Rao alleged that the incident was influenced by an act of revenge against him by some assailants.

He also stated that he recently got his vehicle insured and had purchased it for Rs 15 lakh.

Meanwhile, no casualties have been reported in the incident.

The cause behind the fire is yet to be known.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway
