Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu): The curfew has been extended till May 31st to prevent coronavirus spread in Tamil Nadu creating hindrances for conducting various auspicious things. Due to heavy restrictions on the gathering of people, most events such as weddings, house warming and ear-piercing ceremonies stand postponed. However, there are only a few events that cannot be postponed and are allowed to go on with the participation of a small number of relatives.
The COVID-19 curfew has caused the craving for partaking and to attend the events and anguish that kith and kin are not attending. Right from that time of yore to this day our traditional way is to invite all relatives near and dear to come and share the happiness. Sri Raja Ganapathi Cards Invitation Shop of Coimbatore has ventured into this traditional practise using technology.
With the assistance of the studio, they have added QR code to the printed invitations. By scanning the code the videos taken by the studio can be witnessed live in their private computers and mobile phones.
Speaking on the initiative, Marichami, the owner of the Invitation card shop, said, “The corona outbreak induced lockdown has denied the opportunity to gather at an auspicious function like weddings and ear-piercing ceremonies. So this QR code system seemed to be the best way to find a solution. Before the corona scenario, people used to print invitations in large numbers and would personally invite relatives, friends and neighbours for the occasion. But now, no one prints invitations and if, at all they do, they will print less in numbers."
He further said that it would seem as if the event happens without inviting our relatives. But by this facility, our relatives can see the celebrations right from their respective homes. The cards with QR codes, if sent to relatives by mail, they will be able to scan the QR code in it and watch the entire event. There are two QR codes in it. First QR code when scanned, a video that was previously uploaded to YouTube, welcoming the invitees will be displayed.
Scanning another QR code during the event enables them to see the event live. Also, if someone wishes to gift cash money, cash transactions can be made online to the bank accounts of the couple. The gift in kinds can be sent to the address printed on it. It will give a lot of joy from virtually attending the event.
Considering the current scenario, scanning the QR code with the help of studio-attached invites, you can watch the happenings in the homes of the relatives sitting in their respective places.
There is no doubt that this new facility will be well received by the public in a crisis situation like the COVID-19.
