Jodhpur (Rajasthan): Minister of Water Resources Gajendra Singh Shekhawat during a press conference here on Thursday said that the country is well prepared to tackle the situation at Indo-China border.
The minister's statement comes after a war-like situation prevails at the Indo-China borders near Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh region.
While talking about the Indo- Nepal relations, the Minister said, "Nepal is one of the dearest nations for India. For a long time, India and Nepal have been enjoying a good relationship in terms of trade and culture. But due to the diplomatic intervention of China, our relation with Nepal gets little bitter."
Recently, the Border Roads Organisation has built an 80 km road up to the Lipu Lekh which is also a major route of the annual Kailash Mansarovar Yatra for thousands of Indian pilgrimage. But, this act has not been appreciated by the neighbouring country. So, they (China) are using Nepal as a 'tool' against India, added Shekhawat.
When asked about the preparation of Indian soldier if any war escalates at Indo-China border, Shekhawat said, "Every war has not been fought with 'arms'. Some wars are also fought with 'will power'. The best example could be seen during the Indo-Pak war in 1971."
The leader further assured that the country is capable of every situation, either it is a 'war' or 'pandemic'.
