Maharashtra restrictions on visitors from other states

Amid fear of a second wave of Coronavirus in the state, restrictions have been imposed on people coming in from other states and only those with a Corona negative test report are allowed to visit.

Mumbai: There is a fear of the second wave of Coronavirus in Maharashtra. Against this backdrop, some restrictions have been imposed on passengers coming to Maharashtra from other states and its implementation has started from today. Passengers arriving in Maharashtra are being screened as well as checked and only those passengers whose Corona test report is negative are being allowed into to the state. Passengers who do not have a Corona negative report are admitted to the state only after screening and inspection. The administration has informed that if any suspect is found during the investigation, they will be quarantined.

Nagpur
Passengers from outside the state are being interrogated at Nagpur railway station. The RTPCR test report is being examined. Moreover, if there is no report, the RTPCR test is being conducted at the railway station by a team from the state government. It is only after that that further admission is being given. A special team from the state government and the railway department has been deployed at Nagpur railway station for the probe. This is helping the administration to identify positive patients.

Palghar
Passengers in vehicles coming from Gujarat and Rajasthan are being checked at the Dapchari, Zai check post on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway connecting Maharashtra and Gujarat in Palghar district. The district administration has deployed ten squads at five places on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway to check passengers coming from other states.

Sindhudurg
The health check-up of passengers arriving in Maharashtra has started from today at the check post at Banda Satmatwadi on the border of Sindhudurg and Goa. Joint teams of revenue and health department of the district have been appointed for this purpose and they are recording the passenger's vehicle and personal information. "As per the order of the government, the teams check the passengers at Banda in the limits of Sindhudurg district and take them to the district. Thermal scanning of each is done. Those whose body temperature is above 99 degrees will either be sent back to Goa or their antigen test will be conducted at Banda Primary Health Center. If they are found positive there, we will admit them to the CCC Center at Sherley, ”said Rajaram Mhatre, Tehsildar, Sawantwadi.
