New Delhi: After the sudden demise of former Chief Minister Shiela Dixit, the post of Delhi Congress Chief got vacant, as the Congress party was in a dilemma to get a replacement of her.
However, Congress on Thursday initiated the process of finding a new state chief with party President Sonia Gandhi.
A delegation comprising of former Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, JP Aggarwal, PC Chacko, Arvind Singh Lovely and Subhash Chopra met Sonia Gandhi at her residence to discuss over the post of Delhi Congress Chief.
While speaking to the media, PC Chacko said, "We've submitted a report regarding the suggestion of names for the post of Delhi Congress Chief. Now, Congress President will decide the deserving name for the post. We'll go with the decision of Congress President."
Delhi former Chief also informed the media that the final name will be announced within 2-3 days.
Earlier, Sonia Gandhi gave the responsibility, to Chako, of taking feedback from former Delhi Congress Chiefs, MPs and senior functionaries of suggesting the name who can lead the party in the state and asked him to submit the report in few days.
