New Delhi: Former president of Janata Dal (United) Ramchandra Prasad Singh, popularly known as RCP, who was also close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Thursday, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). RCP Singh in an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat coined a new name for JDU leader and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

Singh said, "People of the country know who is the Prime Minister. But in Nitish Babu's context, he is 'PM' and he will remain 'PM' forever. Here PM stands for 'Palti Maar'." Since resigning from the JDU, RCP Singh always made a scathing attack on Nitish Kumar's government in Bihar. Explaining the acronym 'PM', Singh said, "Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is the 'PM' and he will remain 'PM' forever. The acronym PM stands for 'Palti Maar'. Nitish Kumar ditched Bihar BJP and switched over to RJD to form a coalition Grand Alliance government in Bihar."

"So he is PM (Palti Maar). Kumar keeps on changing alliances to stick to CM's chair. He always betrayed people's mandate. Hence, it was said in that context that Nitish Kumar is PM (Palti Maar) and he will remain Palti Maar (PM) always." On contesting the election against Nitish Kumar, Singh said, "The BJP will take a decision whether I will be fielded against Nitish Kumar or not. But it is sure that I would give a befitting reply to Bihar CM on all fronts. I will come up with facts and figures to take on Kumar."

Singh also refuted allegations that when he was appointed Union minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the centre, his relationship with JDU turned sour. "These were baseless allegations. First, I was appointed Union minister after Nitish Kumar's approval. The Bihar CM congratulated me for becoming the minister. So what Nitish Kumar was expecting from me was that I should not have a cordial relationship with the Prime Minister when I was working under him," Singh added.

The former Cabinet minister, Singh had to resign from the Modi government after the JD(U) did not nominate him to Rajya Sabha for a fresh term last year.
