My aim was to dent JDU, not to affect BJP: Chirag Paswan

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan on Wednesday said that it was his aim to dent the Janta Dal-United (JDU) votes in the electoral battle and also make sure that his candidate should not affect the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). "It was my aim to dent JDU and I worked on it. I also focused that we should not affect the BJP and asked my workers to support it. My aim was to provide more seats to BJP and damage to JDU. The LJP will improve its performance in 2025," Paswan told ANI here.

Hindustani Awam Morcha president and former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said that Chirag Paswan hurt himself by deciding to fight against the NDA.

"There is a saying 'don't cut the branch which you sit on'. Same way, Chirag Paswan worked towards defeating the fold he was part of. Result is clear, the branch has been cut, but he also fell," Manjhi said.

"In Indian politics there are very few CMs whom people trusted for the fourth time. They have given a clear mandate to NDA, there is no confusion," he said.

"In an alliance, not all parties win equal number of seats. Who won how many seats is irrelevant, people voted for NDA. BJP played a role in JD(U)'s victory and JD(U) played a role in BJP's victory. JD(U), BJP, VIP and HAM worked together, then we registered this victory," he added.

Bihar poll results victory of PM Modi: Chirag Paswan

Lok Janshakti Party president Chirag Paswan described the Bihar polls results as a "victory" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the people have shown their trust in him.

With his party winning only one seat while being instrumental in the defeat of the BJP''s ally JD(U) in many seats, Paswan tweeted that he was "proud" that his party did not bend down for power. His party had won two seats in the 2015 polls.

NDA Govt to work with full dedication for balanced development of Bihar: PM

With the ruling NDA set to retain power in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that every section of the society has expressed its faith in the alliance's mantra of "with all, development for all, trust of all" and assured people that it will work with full dedication for balanced development of everybody and every region.

Voters of Bihar have made it clear that their aspiration and priority are development alone, Modi said in a series of tweets, adding that the people's blessings for the NDA''s good governance show what are the state''s dreams and expectations.

Union Ministers Ashwini Choubey and Ravi Shankar Prasad

New Delhi/Patna: Union Ministers including Ravi Shankar Prasad and Ashwini Kumar Choubey credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the electoral victory that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) pulled off in a closely fought Bihar elections.

"Today is a historic day that NDA has won again the extraordinary trust of the people of Bihar. They trusted PM Modi's leadership whose commitment resonated with them that without the development of Bihar, development of India will remain incomplete," Prasad told ANI.

"I have to make only one request to our friends in the opposition. We are dignified in our victory, let them show some grace in their defeat. That is the essence of democracy," he added.

Choubey said that the people of Bihar have elected double-engine government and rejected "double yuvraj," in an apparent dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav.

"I would like to express my gratitude towards the people of Bihar. This victory is a result of PM Narendra Modi's hard work and guidance. People have elected double-engine government and rejected the 'double yuvraj'," he told ANI.

Minister of State and BJP leader Nityanand Rai said: "People of Bihar trusted NDA, Narendra Modi Ji, and Nitish Kumar Ji. The Public gave us a clear mandate."

Results of all 243 assembly constituencies declared in which NDA secured 125 seats of which BJP won 74, JDU (43), Vikassheel Insaan Party (4), and Hindustani Awam Morcha (4).

Opposition's Mahagathbandhan alliance fetched a tally of 110 seats out of which RJD bagged 75, Congress won in 19 and Left got 16 seats.
