Kurnool: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday raided the Vishwabharati Hospital in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh where Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy's mother is admitted in connection with the former minister Y S Viveka Reddy murder case, sources said. Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, is a co-accused in the murder case of former minister YS Viveka.
Avinash Reddy's mother Srilakshmi recently suffered a heart attack and is undergoing treatment at the Vishwabharati Hospital. Reddy is attending his mother at the hospital for the last four days. While the CBI sent notices to Avinash Reddy asking him for questioning on Monday, he wrote a letter to the CBI saying that he would not be able to attend the hearing on the scheduled date.

The arrival of CBI officials to the hospital has triggered speculations about a possible arrest of Avinash Reddy in the Viveka murder case. A heavy Police force has been deployed inside and around the hospital even as restrictions have been imposed on traffic on the road leading to the Vishwabharati Hospital in a bid to prevent a law and order situation.
It is learnt that police have barred the local shopkeepers from opening the shops in the vicinity of the hospital. Sources said that the visiting CBI officials have talked to the Kurnool Superintendent of Police and urged him to tell MP Avinash Reddy to surrender before the probe agency. It will be interesting to see how the SP will respond to the appeal of the CBI officials.
On the other hand, YSRCP activists are flocking the area in a show of strength for the leader. MP Avinash Reddy's followers created a ruckus in Kurnool City on Sunday night by chasing and attacking several media persons who were on duty at the Vishwabharati Hospital. It is alleged that cameras from the hands of some media representatives were snatched and destroyed.
