Climate change activists continued to block roads and bridges in central London as part of a week of civil disobedience against what they say is the failure to tackle the causes of climate change. The Extinction Rebellion group behind the protests warned it would take the protest campaign to Heathrow Airport.

London: Environmental protesters continued to block major roads and bridges in central London on Friday, as part of a week of civil disobedience against what they say is the failure to tackle the causes of climate change.

Hundreds of demonstrators have blocked sites including Waterloo Bridge and Oxford Circus since Monday, and police have made hundreds of arrests.

The Extinction Rebellion group behind the protests warned it would take the protest campaign to Heathrow Airport on Friday, the start of the Easter holiday weekend, if the government did not step up action against climate change.
