New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan snubbed India in a tweet while condoling the death of former Hurriyat Conferenc leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who died at 92 after a prolonged illness on Wednesday.
The Pakistan Prime Minister has even addressed the separatist leader as a Kashmiri freedom fighter who "suffered incarceration and torture' at the hands of Indian authorities.
Khan's provocative tweet against India read: 'Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kashmiri freedom fighter Syed Ali Geelani who struggled all his life for his people and their right to self-determination. He suffered incarceration and torture by the Occupying Indian state but remained resolute."
Khan also quoted Geelani's words, "Hum Pakistani hain aur Pakistan Humara hai", to push his propaganda further.

He added, "We in Pakistan salute his courageous struggle and remember his words...The Pakistan flag will fly at half-mast and we will observe a day of official mourning."
Geelani, who breathed his last at his residence in Srinagar, was under house arrest for the last 10 years. Geelani was born on 29 September 1929 in Zurimanz village in north Kashmir's Sopore and had been affiliated with the religious organisation Jamaat-Islami. He was also the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), a conglomerate of pro-separatist parties in Jammu and Kashmir. Geelani resigned from Hurriyat Conference as its chairman in June 2020 last year after the abrogation of Article 370.
His death is being mourned in the Valley, and social media platforms are flooded with condolence messages.
