2 Covid patients die due to oxygen shortage in Ajmer

2 Covid patients died due to the disruption in oxygen supply in Ajmer's JLN Hospital.

Ajmer (Rajasthan): In the Covid ward of the division's largest Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital (JLN), two patients died on Friday night due to the shortage of oxygen supply.

As per reports, the condition of three patients worsened due to the disruption in oxygen supply. However, following a massive outrage by the relatives of the patients' the oxygen supply was re-initiated 10 minutes later, but by then two patients died.

According to the family members, the oxygen supply in the trauma ward got disrupted at around 12 am.

There has been a huge demand for medical oxygen amid a surge in Covid cases. It is known that many infected patients had passed away due to the lack of oxygen.

Hospital staff says that the disruption happened due to a decrease in the flow of oxygen supplied from the oxygen plant.

An official statement regarding the incident has not been released by the hospital administration. In this regard, Principal of Medical College Veer Bahadur Singh and Hospital Superintendent Anil Jain hasn't spoken.
