Hyderabad: Even as the people in India have started boycotting Chinese goods following the ongoing border tensions, Beijing has started adopting new strategies to keep pushing its goods in India.

China's Strategy

Of late China has stopped labelling its products as 'Made in China' and instead mentions 'Made in PRC' which stands for the People's Republic of China. It is done to misguide the consumers as they will buy the product without noticing that it has been made in China.

Besides, China has even started using Hindi or English language to give details of the product which were earlier written in the Chinese language.

To make their goods look like an Indian product, China uses pictures of Indian models and name the products giving Indian essence.

Beijing started using these tricks so that most of the Indian buyers do not know at first sight that the product is Chinese.

When it actually started

The wave of boycotting Chinese goods within the country began when differences between the two countries erupted over Doklam in 2017. The effect of which reflected in the sales of Chinese lights and idols in that year's Diwali. Only then China decided to change its product packaging plan and started using 'Made in PRC' on its products instead of Made in China.
