Mathew, coming from an agricultural background, had no apprehensions to move forward with his decision.

He brought home Murrah breed buffalos from Haryana, which have high immunity and good physical strength, and started rearing them. The main feed for the buffalos is the grass from his own farmlands and Kannarapola (a kind of water plant).

A small pond has also been dug up near the farm to bathe the Murrah buffalos, which are water buffalos. Mathew is to continue buffalo rearing along with his studies, he says.
